In September 2017, Puerto Rico was devastated by two hurricanes which left much destruction, lack of potable water, and lack of electricity for millions. I traveled to Puerto Rico on October 16 and spent 4 days visiting friends and associates of my company.
We visited a number of people and were able to provide them with cash and emergency supplies to help them get through some of their difficulties.
As part of the service project, I lead the distribution of nearly $70,000 in cash donations from people affiliated with my company to families in need.
As of this writing, a friend of mine just got electric power re-established at her home in San Juan after 105 days without power, except from electric generators. Water has not been available or reliable for nearly the entire time.
It was a great project to help distribute money to families in need.
